How I work

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) +
CBT helps identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour. It is a structured, practical approach that gives you tools to challenge negative thoughts and respond to situations in healthier ways. Widely used for anxiety, depression, and addiction.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) +
ACT encourages you to accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, while committing to actions aligned with your values. It builds psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present and keep moving forward even when things are hard.
Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) +
MBRP combines mindfulness practices with relapse prevention strategies for addiction recovery. It helps you become more aware of triggers and cravings, respond rather than react, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself throughout recovery.
Existential Therapy +
Existential therapy explores the deeper questions of human existence — meaning, freedom, isolation, and mortality. Rather than fixing symptoms, it helps you understand how you relate to life's fundamental challenges and find a more authentic, purposeful way of living.
Person-Centred Therapy +
Developed by Carl Rogers, person-centred therapy is built on unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness. It trusts in your capacity for growth and self-understanding, creating a non-judgmental space where you feel truly heard and accepted.
Motivational Interviewing +
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, goal-oriented approach that helps you explore and resolve ambivalence about change. It is particularly effective in addiction work, drawing out your own motivation and strengthening your commitment to the changes you want to make.
Group Facilitation & Mindfulness Training +
Alongside individual therapy, I facilitate online mindfulness workshops and professional training for individuals, teams, and organisations. These sessions offer practical, evidence-based tools for enhancing wellbeing, emotional resilience, and stress management.

FAQ

Common questions

Everything you might want to know before getting in touch.

What can I expect from a first session?

+
The first session is about getting to know each other. I'll invite you to share what's brought you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and any concerns you have. There's no pressure — it's a space for you to explore at your own pace. We'll also talk practically about how we'll work together going forward.

How do online sessions work?

+
I work online and face to face in Surrey and West London via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or FaceTime — whichever works best for you. All you need is a device with a camera and a private space. Online therapy is just as effective as in-person work, and many clients find it more accessible and convenient. I work with clients across the UK and internationally.

Are you recognised by health insurers?

+
Yes — I am recognised by leading health insurers including BUPA, Affinity, WPA, and Vitality. If you intend to use health insurance to fund your therapy, please let me know when you get in touch and I can guide you through the process.

How long does therapy typically last?

+
This varies depending on your goals and what you're working through. Some clients benefit from a short-term focused piece of work (8–12 sessions), while others engage in longer-term therapy over months or years. We'll review this together regularly so you're always in control of the process.

What is your approach to addiction?

+
I take a compassionate, non-judgmental approach that recognises addiction as a complex issue with psychological, social, and sometimes physiological roots. I draw on Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP), Motivational Interviewing, ACT, and CBT — tailored to what works for you, not a one-size-fits-all model.

Do you offer mindfulness workshops for organisations?

+
Yes — alongside my therapy practice I facilitate online mindfulness workshops and professional training for individuals, teams, and organisations. These are practical, evidence-based sessions focused on wellbeing, emotional resilience, and personal growth. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.

Is everything I share confidential?

+
Yes — confidentiality is fundamental to our work. Everything you share remains private, with the exception of situations where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or where I am required by law to disclose. I will always discuss confidentiality fully with you in our first session.

Are you BACP accredited?

+
Yes — I am fully accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to their ethical framework and professional standards. I hold an MSc in Addiction Psychology and Counselling and a First Class BA in Philosophy, and I engage in ongoing clinical supervision and continuing professional development.

How do I get started?

+
The easiest first step is to use the contact form to arrange a free 20-minute consultation — no commitment required. I aim to respond within one working day.
